I will pivot my content on Instagram

Quick Check‑in

Hey everyone, this is Allan. I’m keeping today’s video short because I want to reflect on a few things I’ve been doing, mainly around creating content on Instagram.

YouTube Progress

I’m pretty happy with how things are going on YouTube. With each video I try to get a little better. The overall quality hasn’t changed dramatically, but my recording process is improving.

AI Editing

For example, I started using AI to cut out the moments where I stay silent in my videos. I built a script that automatically removes those silent sections, so the editing is faster and the final videos feel tighter.

Speaking Skills

I also feel good about creating videos in English. My speaking skills are improving, and it’s getting easier with each video because I’m talking every day, a habit I didn’t have before.

Instagram Experiments

I posted nine pieces of content on Instagram, but I have only a small number of followers there, which is fine, I haven’t used Instagram professionally for a long time. I tried to create content in Portuguese about AI, using transcripts from my YouTube videos and turning them into image‑based posts with text. I chose Portuguese because my existing followers are people I already know from before I started recording in English.

Results

After nine posts, the engagement was very low. Almost no one saw the content, and interaction was minimal. That made me reconsider the approach.

New Direction

I realized that the current Instagram algorithm mainly shows reels to people who don’t follow you. So I’m thinking about taking the videos I record here, editing them into the reels format, and posting them on Instagram. I’m also considering posting only in English on Instagram, as that might reach a broader audience and help me grow.

Moving Forward

This is a building‑in‑public update, just recording my decision. I’ll start working with this new idea in mind. That’s it for today.
