Starting Without Readiness

You will never feel ready to start, and after you start you will wish you had started earlier. I learned that while building an audience in public. Two months ago I finally began, years after wanting to share content about things I care about. I wasn’t even confident speaking English for a couple of minutes in my first video, but I decided to do it anyway.

Daily Consistency

I committed to posting every day and I’m now on an 80‑day streak. I didn’t stop after the decision; each day I simply showed up. Most of the videos were recorded during the day, with only one or two posted after midnight. If you check back tomorrow you’ll find a new video because I’m doing this for real.

Compounding Over Time

The results are modest, some videos get zero views, but that doesn’t upset me. I’m thinking long term. Every video is a repetition, a practice that makes me better. The earlier you start something that compounds, the better. After 80 days I can see slow growth, and I know my effort will compound over time, even if it takes years to see significant results. I’m doing this without any money or a large following.

Audience Connection

You, the viewer, are more than a number to me. Tell me in the comments who you are and why you’re watching. Knowing who’s watching helps me feel less focused on the low subscriber count. My goal isn’t just to collect subscribers; it’s to grow an audience while learning in practice. Studying marketing and audience growth is one thing, but actually doing it reveals how hard it really is. Still, it’s essential to start as soon as possible and show up, not just theorize.

Authenticity Over Applause

I read an article by Fabio Kitta that argues you should act without waiting for validation. I’m not here for applause; I’m building without seeking recognition. Feedback feels great, but I keep going because I value authenticity over virality. Authenticity for me isn’t about refusing improvement; it’s about being myself and sharing what I truly believe.

Approach to AI Content

I could talk about AI news and likely get more views, even if my videos weren’t as polished as other creators. Instead, I discuss AI in a way that feels human and authentic, something that enhances me rather than replaces me. I share the texts, decks, lessons, and principles that matter to me, not just the hype.

Growth Challenges

The channel is barely growing. After the World Cup started, my views dropped, but I keep recording because my objective is the act of creating, not the subscriber count. I won’t improve by gaining more followers; I’ll improve by creating more content.

Advice to Others

Start before you feel ready; the effort will compound. If you’re afraid to record, do it anyway. If you’re better at writing, publish written content or visual content, just start as soon as possible. Don’t feel pressure from me; start in the way that works for you. Daily creation is my recommended approach.

Behind the Scenes

From now on I’ll add a short segment at the end of each video about my recording process. For today, I wrote the entire outline with a pen on paper in English, something I used to do in Portuguese. I write a little every day; today I wrote two pages before recording. Writing in English helped me think more clearly and made recording easier than in the past because the ideas were already formed.
