An old client came back I'm not the same freelancer

Hey everyone, this is Allan. I want to talk about something that started yesterday and continued today: an old client came back. I worked with him for a few months in 2024. Back then I was focused on building pages with WordPress and Elementor and on automations with tools like ActiveCampaign, ManyChat, and others.
From freelancer to developer
When he reached out again this week, I realized I’m not the same freelancer I was then. I was already coding, but I didn’t call myself a developer because I didn’t feel capable enough, even as a junior. I was still learning and had just started a software‑engineering degree. Now I’m a developer. I work with AI, I build systems, automations, and integrations. I’m no longer offering the same services I did before.
Meeting with Danilo
Today I had a meeting with the client and Danilo, my business partner. We’re starting to provide AI integration services for businesses. In the meeting I covered the technical side, while Danilo handled the business side and sales. He talked more than I did, and together we were able to grasp the client’s needs, even though some details will only become clear as the project progresses.
What changed
All the problems this client has are ones I’ve already solved while working with Danilo on our own operations. We’ve dealt with UTM tracking, multi‑host WordPress sites, and AI‑driven processes. Seeing how far I’ve come, from selling infrastructure for digital‑marketing businesses to now providing the intelligence behind every decision, integration, and plan, has changed both my pricing and the results I can deliver. Our complementary personalities and experiences amplify that impact.
Looking forward
The client’s network is huge, and closing this deal could open many doors. The key difference for me is that I stayed in the game all these years, improving while staying on the same path. The client’s business has changed a lot, and I’ve changed a lot too. It feels good.
